The WedLuxe staff are smitten kittens when it comes to one of our all-time favourite brands: Kate Spade. So much so, that we thought it would be fun to marry the girly tradition of high tea with our love for this colourful, graphic and design-inspired brand. Have you picked up a copy of our new issue yet? They hit newsstands last week… I am so excited about them both (East and West editions which are totally different!) In both issues, we have an incredible collection of Glitterati Style Files that were styled and produced by groups of event professionals across the country, without any assistance from us here at the mag! This was a first for us – I put out the call for submissions shortly after I found out I was pregnant and OHHHH I’m so happy I did! I loved them all – but we could only choose 15 to include in the mags. Over the next few weeks I am going to roll out the additional photos and features that we couldn’t fit in the mag. I hope you enjoy all of these as much as I do!

The first one I want to share with you (below) focuses on the wee ones at your event!  Yes, those adorable yet busy little people who you love. Though they tend to get the most attention at a wedding (other than YOU of course) they are often the ones that are overlooked when planning out the details of the party. That’s why I was so happy when I saw a whole submission produced just to pay homage to tiny guests!

Imagine the look on a little one’s face as they see a sweet table styled just for them! Aside from an extreme sugar high,
little party-goer’s will surely remember this night forever. Table design, vessels and decor by Elizabeth Johnston of Eventdecorator.com. Vanilla bean cake pops transformed into bride and groom teddy bears complete with ears, tall tower filled with alternating rows of chocolate and sugar-glazed raspberry donuts, cookie wands decorated with edible fuchsia glitter, hydrangea flower cupcakes and two-tier cake with sugar bride and groom bears on top.

I wanted to share the beautiful email I received for Lindsay’s Mother, Maribeth about the amazing brooch bouquet.  Check out how fantastic Lindsay looked with the bouquet!

“There were so many comments about the flowers in particular and the vintage brooch ‘twist’ to the theme was a HUGE success. The brooches in the centrepieces were noted. We decided to give the aunts on my side of the family each a one to wear at the ceremony and beyond (since there were corsages for the other side of the family) and they were all very touches and LOVED the idea.

Of course, most of all – the Brooch Bouquet – there are NO WORDs to describe the beauty…. from the moment Lindsay saw it, her floral bouquet was set aside and she decided to carry the brooch bouquet….  everyone was talking – what is it? what is she carrying? can I see it? We all imagined the life stories of those vintage brooches sprinkled throughout the room…. where they had been , who had owned them – it was like a hundred more lives of experience were there with us on Saturday. The bouquet will be a unique keepsake that brought our brooch collection, and your creativity together to make a keepsake of a lifetime. Who knows, we may have started a new family tradition – the next generation may also carry it at their weddings.”

Her comments brought tears to my eyes and reminded me to stop and reflect on the memories and moments in time that we are so lucky to design.  Creating something custom and unique that will be a moment in time. I wanted to share some detail images taken of the brooch bouqet, floral purse and handtied bouquet after the photo shoot.  Photographed on the deck of our design studio by Rowell Photgraphy.

Mini antique brooches adorned the handle of this vintage brooch bouquet.

Beutiful ribbon from Mokuba accented the design and brought out the colours of the antique brooches.

This unique purse bouquet could be carried by Bride, Mother or Bridesmaids.

I love the detailing on the purse!

This elegant bouquet is a compliment to the brooch or purse bouquet.  You may choose to have two types of bouquets for your wedding day photographs!

I met so many incredibly talented and inspiring vendors at this show. I encourage our bloggers to visit the Wedding Co. website when choosing your vendors. WedLuxe magazine handed out the latest issue to Brides as they arrived and we were very excited to show off our wedding feature. Make sure you view our wedding and this glamorous magazine!

Kelly, my lead floral designer and I spent two weeks getting our display ready and WOW did we love the reaction!! A garden inspired table in purple tones that we can’t wait to create as a head table in our upcoming season.
